Letterman usually isn't funny

I am so not a fan of David Letterman, but I watched this interview with Joaquin Phoenix and laughed out loud several times during it. I just wanted to share it with all of you that did not catch it and hear what your thoughts on it are.

Cece, I love you to death, I REALLY DO, but I came over here to post a post and now I don't want to step on your toes and ARGH. Okay, I'll keep tweaking it and it will be up sometime this weekend.

LOVE YOU TO DEATH.

Oh, and Joaquin can go jerk himself off, by the way. ;)

I saw it originally. I LOVE LETTERMAN!!! Rob and I have been watching since the early days in the 80's at Berkeley. Every night!!! Letterman was brilliant with Joaquin. Seeing it again made me laugh harder!!!! Never thought to watch it again! Damn that's a good one. Thanks.

Megs, post yours tomorrow, or is it today? I guess it is today now. So post yours today. No toe stepping here.

Saw this originally; it is very funny.

He also had a crazy one with Farrah Fawcett some years ago. If you like this one, search for that one, too.

I guess that explains the reference he made to Farrah in this one.

Thank you SO much for posting this. It's crazy. I love Phoenix, think he's dead brilliant not to mention sexy, and I'm betting this was a hilarious deadpan joke. I suppose I could be wrong, but I think it is.

Not a fan of Letterman either, by the way--don't like his snide smirky smugness much.

Oh wait, this was from last year, and I think the consensus is that he was doing some combo of joking/not joking.

Weird.

But if I were a celeb, I think I'd be tempted to pull something like that too, every so often.

I actually liked him with the crazy beard and bum hair...

Oh, I don't know...this interview make me uncomfortable b/c I don't like knowing is someone is for real or just a publicity stunt or coked and jacked out.

It just bugs me.
Farrah did, too.

And then the publicists say, "oh, just jokin' with ya."

But what is the sense?

Do you think he was just jerking around for fun???
