New menu items

Since Leah liked my bacon bowl comment over at Suzanne's Rose Cottage Studio, I was inspired to add a few items to the Wild Onion Cafe menu:

The original bowl of bacon

Followed by a bowl made of bacon.
Look at the greens Suzanne, those are for you

In the future, all orders will be served on bacon placemats

Quick snacks will include bacon popcorn

and Hot Bacon Pinwheels
Of course there will be Spam with real bacon

And bacon wrapped hot dogs with grilled onions

From the drink menu... we'll add Diet Coke with Bacon

along with genuine bacon vodka for bacon martini's

The dessert menu will be extensive,
highlighted by this bacon-apple pie

Served ala mode with Bacon Ice Cream

Bacon Cinnamon Buns

Fresh baked Bacon Cookies hot out of the oven

A chocolate covered bacon bar

Bacon Lollipops

End the evening by cleansing your palate with Bacon Mints

So where is The Wild Onion?

A few posts ago, someone posed a question: "Where is The Wild Onion located?" Well you see we are actually located down town.
Not very far from the intersection of Pursuit of Happiness Ln. and Head Up Your Ass Rd.
Not to mention, thanks to Severus, we have several conveniently located portal booths throughout the world. Hopefully this will clear up all of the confusion as to where we are, and how to get here.

A Place to Relax

I love to just come here to sit and relax.
To be with friends, to share a laugh.
I love to come here it makes me smile,
to read the words, to stay awhile.
I love to sit here with my group of friends,
Who will stand beside me to the very end.
I love to be here alone with you,
to enjoy the sights, soak in the views.
And sometime I come here so I can think,
to just sit a spell, and have a drink.
Coming here is special you see,
Because The Wild Onion Crew is here with me.

We Have a Winner!

I neatly wrote your names on cards:

I neatly folded all the names in little rectangles:

I chose a hat--notice my dear Severus watching over the proceedings:

I put the names in the hat and scrambled them all up, and Sarge took over:

Sarge stuck his hand in and retrieved the winning card:

Held it up for me to see:

Unfolded and revealed:

KAREN!

As for the rest of you lovelies, well, your sock time will come...thanks for playing along!

Yet Another Sock Contest

Let's make this easy and random, no work for you! I'm psyched to start a new pair o' socks! Just one of my many obsessions, sock knitting.

So...

leave a comment by Friday, you lovely denizens of the Wild Onion, and tell me if you'd like to enter the random drawing. I will draw a name out of a hat this weekend and let you know the winner! Easy as pie!

I'll even photo-document the drawing.

There you have it.

Gardening vs Boobs...

I noticed my gardening post wasn't doing too well, so I Googled boobs. Look what I found. I know sex sells and blogs with lots of boobs and ass do quite well. My question is logical. How can the woman walk? Can she tie a tennis shoe? Can she shave? Can she find a bra (apparently not)? But she likes pink. I've gotta give her credit for pink. And perhaps cotton.

Dreaming...

After looking at a kid with a fork up his nose, I had to look at something pretty. My side garden before Dr. P told me to stop tending. It's now a weedy out of control mess. But my weedy out of control mess is beauty to others. A PG&E (gas and electric) guy walked through the gate and said "Oh my God" I said, I know, it's a mess. He said "No, it's so beautiful.") My former neighbor visited recently and came through the gate and said "Oh my God." I said, I know, it's a mess. He said "No, it's so gorgeous." The weeds had grow so much there was just a wee path through the garden. I started to look at my garden differently. I wanted it all neat and clean, but to so many all messy was beautiful. I'd never considered that. This is just the side yard with the garbage, recycling bins etc.. It was all ugly with just pea gravel, so I planted it and of course the plants responded in kind.

Life is beautiful.

Everybody Wang Chung Tonight

Remember that song? The one you couldn't get out of your head and that you wished you had never heard?

For those of you who aren't quite sure what this song is about...hop on over to my blog and I'll explain it to you.

I'll warn you. It isn't pretty, but if you NEED to know the truth and you can stand it then go and be enlightened.
