Yet Another Sock Contest

Let's make this easy and random, no work for you! I'm psyched to start a new pair o' socks! Just one of my many obsessions, sock knitting.

So...

leave a comment by Friday, you lovely denizens of the Wild Onion, and tell me if you'd like to enter the random drawing. I will draw a name out of a hat this weekend and let you know the winner! Easy as pie!

I'll even photo-document the drawing.

There you have it.

As long as they are not pink I want socks. If they are pink, I still want them and will hold my own contest.

Sincerely yours,

Megan, you're a riot. That was my question too, but I decided not to ask and just enter once! Damn. Miss Leah, do Megan's comments count as six entries? If so, I'll be back.

I love aqua and blue too, so Miss Leah, you can start knitting in aqua rather than pink in the event I lose and Bob has to wear them. HOWEVER, if you're already knitting pink perfection, don't stop because I'm going to win this contest come hell or high water. Even if I have to bribe Heggie or Hubby! No really, I'm serious. I never win contests. NEVER!!! Look, Bob already has hand knitted socks so his name on a white piece of paper should be wadded up and shot out of a straw like a spit ball. "Bye, bye baby!" Okay, who's my next competion? Megan. Well that's easy. Irish Whiskey.

I'm sitting pretty high on the hog right now and feelin' mighty good and very confident. Oh, just a suggestion. You might want to knit socks with all of favorite colors in the event I DON'T win. God forbid.

XO

Suzanne said...

You might want to do that with all of "our" favorite colors too.

Leah said...

Just once each. That's all the hat can handle!

Suzanne said...

Perfect. I'm poised to win. *Starts arranging sock drawer to make room.*

Megan said...

Okay, but I'd like to see this 'hat' you speak of...

Suzanne said...

Me too. It'll just have to hold one name.

Gig said...

Ok!! I am in on this contest ladies, it is still COLD in Michigan!!

Leah, I would be thrilled with any color...so I guess ya better get knitting, lol.

Suze and Megan...get in line!

*relaxes on macy sofa, waiting for new socks,* eat your hearts out!

Suzanne said...

Joins Giggie on Macy's sofa. "Look at my pretty feet girlie, aren't they perfect for hand knitted socks?"

"No."

You damn well know she hand picked Severus. Gets in line behind Gig, Severus, Megan and Bob. What's wrong with this picture?

Megan said...

I'm not even wearing socks right now, it's still over 70 degrees in my apartment...

But that does NOT mean I want out of the contest!

*cuddles on sofa with Gig & Suz*

I see all of you conspiring against me.

Leah said...

I've already made some very nice black socks for Severus, so he's out.

Dear Leah...

Please consider this comment my official entry into the Wild Onion Cafe "Yet another sock contest". It would be a thrill beyond all imagination and dreams to be bestowed with a hand made, personalized pair of socks that I can call my own. Should you need any further information, I can be contacted here.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter,

jb

Random drawing? I'm so totally in.

Ya'll can blame Bob for drawing my attention to this contest during a week when I normally would not have dropped by the Cafe... if I win :)

Leah said...

Padraig--if you win, will you share the socks with your sis, 'cause don't we always have to share with our sisters?

Cece said...

I'll try to visit everyone later. It has been a very busy and tiring week for me. Only one more day, though!

Leah said...

But if he doesn't would you please consider Measly Merely Me?

Please and thank you.

Suzanne said...

I wrote something earlier but apparently I deleted it. I was on the phone with Cece and couldn't talk and chew gum at the same time. Yes, I really do try.

XO

P.S. I don't think any of them should win. I think I should!!!

Megan said...

If my brother wins I'm totally blaming Bob.

Megan said...

And then I'm stealing the socks. Padraig, I know where you liiiiiive!

just bob said...

See Bob wins. Merely Me said so.

Damn and blast you Kylie. We don't need no more names in the hat. You hearing this, Zack, you utter and complete and total LOSER? CHEESE? Where you at, girl? You know you want socks.

Oh, wait, I'm contradicting myself...

Only until we get married. Then the wife gets 'em. I'm sure Megan misses her secondhand jeans source ;)

Leah said...

Just checking in. I'm going to draw a name tonight after midnight.

Cece said...

Damn, Midnight? She sure knows how to keep us on our toes around here doesn't she. I'm so sorry you all are going to be the Biggest Losers, because, I'm going to win!!!!

Suzanne said...

Size 7. Aqua, pink or blue. I do like purple and will accept it in a medium to pale value (think lilac). I'm also keen on green, but not hunter green mind you, charteuse, but not a muddy charteuse, a vibrant lively one! Or Moss Green. Lime Geen. Emerald green. Bluish green, etc. I also like yellow. A happy yellow. Peach is fine too. Oh, and before I close, I might add, nothing that will makes me itch. ;)

Wow, feels as if I just placed an order with an upscale handmade sock boutique. You might consider opening one.

XO

P.S. I'm not going to address my competition because I'm "IN THE ZONE." I have this one wrapped up if I stay focused and if Heggie picks the ticket with the neon sign flashing "PICK ME, PICK , ME!!!" Yes, I attached one.

Oh and by the way, Leah, midnight? You're violating child labor laws you know. I want the drawing photo-documented as promied because I'll have recourse if I don't win this damn things!! *Starts knitting own socks while on hold with Folsom Prison.*

XO

You keep dreamin'...

Suzanne said...

Give me that USC chicken neck. I'll show you a dream, bitch. Megan my darling, what you fail to realize is I have Heggie securely stuffed in Aunt Suzy's pocket. "Heggie darling, the Butterfly Bush should arrive around June." See! If you win I'm coming to L.A. Meet me at the Rose Bowl.

With utmost respect and love,
UCLA (Oh, Berkeley too!!!)

P.S. You wanna know the truth? I can hardly wait to see who Heggie picks!!! I don't really care if I win. Just the joy on some friends face who win will be reward enough. And the awe on Leah's when Child Services comes knock, knock, knockin.

Leah said...

Suzy, you're right--it'll have to be Sarge, not Hedgie!

And how do you like how I'm here blogging right after lighting the Shabbat candles and having our meal? Bad Jew?

Suzanne said...

No, you're not a "bad Jew," you're a good Jew...you're OUR Jew! Honestly honey, I don't think I'll make it till midnight, but I'll check in early tomorrow morning. Can hardly wait. What a blast this has been. Sure brought out the competitive nature in most of us! Oh, and Sarge. Now that makes sense.

Gotta run. I'm off to pick Bijou up at the Vet's. He was neutered today. Yes, I know it was supposed to be last month, then last week. Details. Well it finally happened today. I love that boy and hope he forgives me. When we arrived at the Vet's he was hiding under his blankie. I don't think I have much hope of forgiveness. Wish me luck!

I'm crossing my fingers for the drawing. My feet are absolutely freezing (it's only about 75 degrees here).

XO

Leah said...

Never mind, I'm shutting this puppy down and drawing--I'll be asleep by midnight, and so...without further ado...I'll be back in a few with a photoessay and winner!

Megan said...

If Leah is "our Jew" (so many things wrong there, but we're cool so I'll go with it) can I be "our Drunkard" ???

It appears that Zack has abdicated...

Leah said...

OMG Megan you are so funny. I don't mind being "our Jew" and you can definitely be "our drunkard."
