My Trip To Robyn's

Straight from the garden. Jasmine in honor of Bindi. Can't give Robyn the the vase, cuz it costs 20 bucks!
Ohno, get out of the way.
Robyn's bouquet.
Ohno's constant dilemma! He crawls inside T-Bone's foam bed and claws. This is the result.
Ohno and Picasso investigating.
The bouquet.
Another view.
Rat!
Downtown Sacramento. Give me a break, I'm going 80.
Entering Elk Grove. Have no idea what that is. Oil tank? Water tank? In the fast lane going 80, great shot!
In Elk Grove, traveling towards Robyn's house. Yup...three lanes to a freakin' development!
Couldn't find Franklin. Turned around and tried to find it. Still couldn't. Stopped at the gas station. Parked right next to this vehicle! Had a brilliant conversation with the clerk (see my blog ~ comment to Leah and Gig). Turned around and went back. (Didn't go far enough apparently!)
Parked in the bike lane for this shot. Yup, think that's illegal.
Hey, what do you want...it's moving and I ain't a professional!
Finally. Wet papertowels to keep her happy.
Robyn...where the hell are you? Trust me honey. If I went through all that for nothing, I'm not going to be happy.
XO
~
Whoops, almost forgot that one. Saw it on the way in and took it on the way out. Robyn's house is built on wetlands/farmland. God help them if a levy breaks. I thought this was so charming...

Should you be using a camera at 80mph? O_o

lol

Our roads never have a speed limit of anything over 70mph which is fine because my old car would probably fall apart at that speed! :-D

Rob asked the same thing. I said it's blurry because I had both hands on the wheel!!! I did my best under the circumstances. Didn't even look, just clicked!

GORGEOUS roses. FAB post. xoxo.

Just a p.s.--that stunning bouquet you put together, at our local uber-fancy little local flower shop would easily be over a hundred dollars! Not to put a price on good taste and sweetness and care, but hey. Golly, I hope Robyn got those!!!

nice job suz, impressed that you followed through!!! i hope it all works out! very cool... youve got my respect for sure...

Hey Leah!

THANKS HONEY!!! You made me feel FANTASTIC!!! Honestly, I don't think she's seen the bouquet yet. I suspect it's still on the porch. I would have heard from her by now. She would always call or write. I'm worried because I suspect the water level is decreasing as we speak (they're usually thirsty). Yikes. I also have a feeling we gave a card and bouquet to the porch! If so, at least we have photos to prove we did it! I don't have her phone number. DOES ANYONE HAVE ROBYN'S PHONE NUMBER??? Where is that woman?

Not to put a price on it, but yup that little cutie would be close to $200 here. I've thought about it many, many times. And I just give um away free! Yee Haww! I've often thought of starting a little shop here, but have no idea how I'd now work it in around blogging! ;)

If I don't hear from Robyn by tonight, I think I'll drive back to El Grove tomorrow and actually knock on the door. I also have her work address, so with the help of the gas station clerk, I can probably find that too! Did you read about that clerk?! God, he was terrific. I just loved that guy! He made me laugh way too hard. There are so many idiots, like the stupid Corvette guy yesterday, but then there are so many amazing people who make up for all the idiots. I love um.

Thanks for the kind words dear friend. Always nice to hear from you. Let's say we scoot on over to the dance floor for a little thrill. The bartender should be there! I don't think that guy actually works.

Inner Voices,

Of course I followed through. Why? Because I'm a "Follow Througher." Don't I look like one! Okay, now that I have your respect, I'm going to make 5 requests. Okay, I'm going to dole them out one at a time over the next year. Get ready. The party's about to begin. Here's my first one. When I come to Monterey, will you and Cheese please take me to that fancy resturant overlooking the ocean in Big Sur? I'm a vegetarian, so I won't cost you much. Probably $7.95 for a salad. Thanks!!!

Love you honey. And hopefully the birthday girl will show up. Eventually. Good Lord! Do I have to go back down to Elk Grove and drag her ass to this blog? A woman's work is never done. I hear ya Cheese.

*Swayin' to the music, moves out to the the dance floor with Leah. Get's a load of eye candy and waits for a handsome fella in a black trench coat, with way too many pockets.*

This was so cool of you. And thanks for signing my name - that was cool too. Those roses were pretty cool as well.

Suzanne said...

Mr. Shife,

You're welcome a million times! That's what's great about "cool" people, they're "cool!"

See ya on the dance floor baby! Leah has encouraged everyone to shake their money maker in honor of Robyn's birthday. Do you have one? Good. Shake it.

XO :)

Suzanne said...

Okay it's official. I'm worried. I'm going to go to Robyn's blogs, research where Jim works and give him a call. Something's odd. And trust me, those flowers are still on the porch. Who wants a pretty bouquet!??

I'll let you know what happens.

XO

Suzanne said...

But first, I'm going to shake my money maker for about 10 minutes! Yeee Hawww!!! Where's Gig!?

I guess late is better than never. I have been bilging water out of a swimming pool with a 10 gallon trash can, a 3 gallon pail, and a 5 gallon shop vac. I siphoned it down until it wouldn't siphon anymore, and now I am bailing it out by hand. I will not be able to move tomorrow, but hopefully within a week or so, I will have a clean pool. Suze, that was a fantastic gift. Those flowers were beautiful. I know she will just be in tears when she gets them. Maybe she is visiting Jim for her birthday. Anyway, here's some virtual money to help pay for the gas. Let me know if you want me to send you some real money for your troubles. I could snail mail it. Love ya, And yeah, Mr. Shife found his way to the onion.

Suzanne said...

Hi Bindi!!! Thank you honey. That bouquet smelled pretty wonderful! Yummy. I've just been on the phone trying to get in touch with Robyn or her hubby. I give up. I've made a gazillion calls to no avail. That's it. I'm done. You know that bouquet is still on the porch. That kills me! I hate to see flowers go to waste. Oh well. We know they existed.

The Jasmine was lovely. Honey, the scent is intoxicating. Wow! And you know what? The Confederate Jasmine is about to bloom too! That stuff if too beautiful. I'll trip over that scent for weeks! I wish I could bottle it and send it your way. It's too precious to keep all to myself. But I'll have to.

Oh I wonder if Robyn was home. I still can't believe I didn't knock on the door or ring the doorbell. Rob still can't believe I drove all that way and didn't make an effort. I didn't want to impose!!! You know? Huge mistake. Okay, lets go to the dance floor and sit on the sofa for a few minutes. Great sofa. Isn't it. Cost me over a $1,000 at Macy's. They screwed me! Bastards.

XO

Suzanne said...

Cece,

Ya know what honey? She's gonna cry like a baby!!! That's if she gets um. I don't think she will. It was our gift to the porch! Damn. No baby, I don't need any money, but thank you so much. I just keep thinkin' though...wow, 60 miles for an asshole in a Corvette and the best convenience store clerk in the whole wide world! Worth every f****** mile! Trust me. I wouldn't lie! Some times you just get lucky! What a brilliant trip. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Even if my roses die. It was worth the effort.

Love ya baby. See you at the cafe. I'm already dancin.

Leah said...

Don't worry, Suzanne, the photos are so vivid that the roses have a life of their own--and I think roses do anyway--they may wilt in body, but they'll persevere in spirit....oooo that sounded deep, but I mean it. There's a great journal of birthdayness here at the Onion and Robyn if she ever gets here will laugh when she sees all the hubbub in her honor. Won't you Robyn!?

You are quite the adventuress! I bet you'd have been an awesome road trip buddy! Too bad my road trippin' days are pretty much over...maybe we should all take a virtual road trip...

Suzanne said...

Leah,

She's going to stop by. I just know it!!! When? I have no idea! I've been on the phone all afternoon in an effort to contact her or her hubby. To no avail. Okay, I'm screwed! I have no idea how to contact her or hubby. I've tried every thing I can imagine.

This is the new rule. We not only exchange emails, etc., we exchange phone numbers. I won't go through this again. I'm serious. When something feels wrong, it is wrong. I need a damn phone number. Or two. Or three. I absolutely refuse to just wander in never, never land. I waste way too much time trying to figure out stupid. Okay. That's it! Give me you're f****** phone number and knock it off.

Gig said...

Suze, GREAT JOB!!! Beautiful flowers, *inhaling deeply*, I love the pictures, thank you for doing everything you did.

Robyn will be here soon, I hope.

If you go back to Elk Grove tomorrow, please do keep both hands on the wheel at all times!!

I was going to "swing to the music", but I am way past tired tonight. Love you lots, Gig

I love that you photo the way Suze! I posted down on the post with the flower cake and 'screw everything' card (which I adore)!
I am way tired and need to go to bed! Whew! Partying wore me out! Well...I love you all! And like I said read one post down to get all that I wrote!
Love you!
Robyn

Just to let you all know too! I got the flowers probably 15 minutes after Suze dropped them off! WHY? you ask! I got to wonderful surprises the morning of my birthday!
1) Jim walking through the front door in his uniform (hubba hubba)
2)with a hugh beautiful bouquet and card

his expression (grinning like a Chessire cat) was priceless! As soon as I saw him and then the flowers I burst out in tears! And then he handed me the card and I cried harder! He was looking over my shoulder and grinned bigger! He was really impressed by what Suze did to make my day beautiful! So, please don't worry those beauiful flowers from Suze's 'secert garden' were in my home with my nose in them all day! They are gorgous!

I too took photos and will post them very soon on my blog! I love you all! Chat soon!

*pulls the cord to the open sign, turns back to look in the darken cafe and smiles to self about the night before...walks away humming*

Now that'w my girl.

Suzanne said...

Okay. Let's try that one more time.

Now that's my girl.

CAN YOU BELIEVE I DIDN'T KNOCK!!!??? I COULD HAVE HELP VACUUM!

Yay!

Leah said...

p.s.Robyn, never has an arrival been more anticipated than your arrival at the Wild Onion Cafe!! It's so funny how nervous we were!!!

Well, I'm so glad to hear that Jim came for your birthday. That's wonderful.

xoxo

Suzanne said...

Okay, I got her phone number. Everyone's exchanging phone numbers because this is NEVER going to happen again. I will not tolerate this nonsense!!! God I need a drink. "Water boy!"

Leah honey, let's sit down and have a cupcake and read some poems. "...There once was a man from Nantucket..." Well, I've been to Nantucket and I never saw that man. Did you?

Hey Suzanne,
You are one amazing lady :)
I am absolutely gobsmacked that you managed to take those lovely photos on the way to Elk Grove at 80 mph which is about 100kph over here. The bouquet of roses is beautiful! I am so pleased at the way everything has turned out. We have such great friends. Hey, I'm cryin' over here. But I'm happy too.
Love ya this much (arms out stretched)
Mark. XO

Yeah, and there once was a man from Boston... Well, I think you all have read that one. I left it on Brians blog back several months ago.

Suzanne said...

Who's Brian? Where did he go?

Suzanne said...

How could he just leave us?

Suzanne said...

Mark you're the best. I love you dear friend and really appreciate your kind words. And NOPE not to worry about Rob, he's a pretty cool guy.

I had a blast taking the bouquet and card to Robyn and was thrilled when I could share the ride with all of you. Same time next year!?

Love you!
