This is how it works: Send via email a photograph of one of your homemade dessert of your choice. You can post more photographs along with the recipe on your blog, the day of the carnival. I'll post your pictures and put some fun music on my blog, inviting you to join in the fun. Leave me a comment telling me the name of your dessert and make sure you have a link for me to get back to your blog.

My dear friend Cielo is holding a wonderful dessert contest and I hope you all take part. I know we're all fantastic cooks (especially I.V.), so rub your hands together and start thinking about what to make. Please go to her blog for all the details (you can find her on my blog) and hurry because the contest ends the last day in April. Bake your little booties off baby!!! Or not. She said it can be a no-bake recipe too!!
~
Have fun and cook to win! You're representing the Cafe!
Update: Okay, I realize this isn't a contest. It's a carnival. Your dessert will make it no matter how ugly!

Ummmm dessert sounds good right now. I think I need to stop by and get me a Java Chiller from Sonic on my way home now.

Cecile, you're so lucky to have Sonic. I'm obsessed with the cherry limeade.

That dessert carnival is an amazing idea.

Lemon Berry Slush from Sonic isn't too bad either. There isn't a Sonic in NY?

Leah said...

No, we don't have them here, more's the pity. When we get off the plane in Texas, the first thing Hedgie asks is when we're going to get a Cherry Limeade. I like the Java Chillers too, but have never had a slush. Yum.

Alright, what's everyone making? I'm not sure I'll have time to make something, so perhaps I'll buy a pretty little thing and pass it off as homemade!

What is Sonic? And what is Java Chiller. Is is a smoothie?

or java chiller

actually, i cant imagine what drinks we might have here that the US doesnt.
oh well, i have it on good authority that we have much better candy except those little peanut butter things. they're wonderful to look at and D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S

Kylie, what are you talking about? Peanut butter cups? What are you going to make for the Carnival?

kylie said...

YES peanut butter cups, what is the brand name?

kylie said...

oops, i didnt answer what i was gonna make for the carnival....
i have no idea
i'm not really a cook and by the time i get the mains done the dessert is very low priority.
right now the tomboy wants me to make date sago, it's wonderful comfort food but wouldnt look crash hot in a photo, then theres a chcolate and date meringue torte i rather like, pavlova, steamed chocolate pudding, golden dumplings, chocolate log....

Kylie--Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?

I prefer M & Ms to Smarties, but that aside, my fave candy is most definitely made in other countries...

Now, what to make. I think I'll do our family favorite--crackle-top ginger molasses cookies. They make the house smell like heaven and they look beautiful. I make 'em so often that I've memorized the recipe!

kylie said...

yeahhhh, reese's peanut butter cups. that's it.
crackle top ginger molasses cookies....sounds fan-bloody-tastic, yes do them, i wanna see em

Honey, I can not drive all the way to Australia in a BMW. And frankly, I don't think it can float. Even going 80 I don't think I have a prayer in hell. So hand delivered roses are out. We'll have to come up with "Plan B." What do you suggest? Make it good and we'll all try to make your dreams come true. Okay, we'll try to make a dream come true.

XO

P.S. I love that you use this as your own personal comment page. You were the last person I ever expected to be here and I'm so grateful you are.

P.P.S. I told you on your blog, but apparently you weren't home...I have something for you on my blog.

Leah!

Yes, beautiful cookies! And take a photo of them in front of the fireplace. Charming. You'll win. Oh, that's right, it isn't a contest.

I think I'm going to try to make a NY Cheese Cake. Why did I cap that? Probably because it's important! But maybe with a twist...a little chocolate. God, why can't we all live near one another and just bring gobs and gobs of food to one another?! We'd just all sit around gabbin' and eatin' all day! Hey, someone's gotta make a livin'! Oh, so that's why we don't live near one another. Right.

Love ya darlin',
XO
